CHAPTERS & ORGANIZING
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Regional Chapters/Community Organizing
TAAG is a Black liberation organization that focuses on serving people of the global majority. This consists of individuals living in small communities worldwide. Specifically, non-white people of African, Asian, Latin American, and Arab heritage, who make up roughly 85 percent of the global population. Occasionally, our services may also reach out to other marginalized groups, including women, people experiencing poverty, individuals with disabilities, and veterans, depending on the specific program. We center those who suffer social injustices and support their lifelong journey to find liberation mentally, physically, and spiritually.
We have a strong focus on organizing in small communities where racism and other forms of discrimination are far too common. Our main chapter in Allegheny County, Take Action Advocacy Group (TAAG), represents our deep history of organizing in the Mon Valley, an area outside of Pittsburgh that is routinely left out and oppressed.
